SRG are working with a world-leader in contract testing working with a wide range of crops, bio stimulant and seed care trials, as well as traditional contract trials work. They are looking for a Trials Agronomist at their brand new Crop Centre in Warwick, Warwickshire to ensure the successful delivery of high quality data and completion of contract research trials for the Agricultural, Horticultural and Amenity sectors.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance to all industry standards and SGS quality systems to maintain consistency in our services.
Maintain client confidentiality at all times and follow the correct SGS and client protocols.
Work on the whole independently but at times under the direction of the Field Trials Manager to generate data and ensure agreed internal and external deadlines are met.
Mark out field trials at suitable sites on farms in compliance to the relevant standards.
Correctly prepare, apply and handle products for application, to ensure successful trials and the H&S of employees, clients and the public.
Gather and accurately record trials data for entry into Agricultural Research Management software, presentations and reports, to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and repeat business.
To carry out efficient and safe sampling, assessing and harvesting of field trials.
At times be able to troubleshoot in-field to ensure the tasks are undertaken whilst adhering to relevant acrreditaion.
Work efficiently and accurately on pcs and tablets for recording and processing data.
Assist the Study/Trials Manager with the maintenance and upkeep of field trials to ensure trial objectives are met and all growers are satisfied with the condition of their fields.
At all times, adopt a safe behaviour by exercising due regard for the health and safety of yourself, colleagues and clients, in line with the company’s policies and procedures.
Maintain full compliance with the company’s Code of Integrity & Professional Conduct, and at all times adopt behaviour in accordance with SGS UK’s Equality & Diversity policy.
Suggest improvements to current operations so that the department can maximise profitability and efficiency.
Requirements
Experience in specialised software (e.g. ARM)
Experience within a similar role, or in depth knowledge of the agricultural sector.
Experience in dealing with clients.
Experience with a CRO carrying out field trials in the Agricultural, Horticural and Amenity sectors desirable.
