Storyteller (Quarry Bank)

Your role will be to provide an exceptional visitor experience through varying styles of storytelling and guided tours. This storytelling will celebrate the property’s ‘Spirit of Place’ and you will be able to engage and connect with audiences of all types and ages. You’ll be the face of our unique and bespoke experiences, bringing the story to life for our visitors. You’ll be part of a team of storytellers and volunteers working across the multiple venues on the property.

The current available position is working 408 hours across the year on a set working pattern. This working pattern is:

Summer hours (Feb half term-October half term) – Week 1: Sunday

Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday

Winter hours (November-Feb half term) – Week 1: Thursday

Week 2: Sunday

Interviews: 18th April 2023

What you’ll be doing
As a Storyteller, you’ll bring the magic of this property alive. You’ll deliver guided tours and bespoke experiences with flair and theatre, be able to hold a space and engage with a mixed audience, ensuring visitors have an enjoyable and unforgettable experience. You’ll be a charismatic storyteller, someone who enjoys working and interacting with people. It’s important that you’ve a keen interest in history, as well as experience of working with the public and especially children and young people.

You will be providing guided tours in costume to the public and in character to visiting school groups. In free flow spaces you will provide interesting and enlightening talks to visitors and be adaptable in answering their questions and engaging with their interests.

Along with a passion for providing the highest standards of customer service, you’ll also be able to inspire those around you with your passion and enthusiasm for our work.
