There is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, specialist physiotherapist with experience in Women’s Health physiotherapy to join our team In University Hospitals of Morecambe bay.

The post will be probably be based Westmorland General Hospital with work commitments across bay. Exact post location as yet to be decided,

You will be working within the Cross Bay Women’s Health Physiotherapy Team, this includes Advanced Physiotherapists and a team of Specialist Physiotherapy colleagues across the sites

The post holder will manage a caseload covering Obstetrics, Gynaecology inpatients and outpatients and Breast Care provision to our inpatient services.

The team work closely with the urogynaecology MDT, consultants, midwives and GPs. The post holder will support the development of Women’s Health physiotherapy colleagues in the cross bay team.

The trust is involved in PPHS NHS improvement programme and is currently a implementer site along with Blackpool, Preston, Chorley and Blackburn. An element of your role will include representing the trust in this project.

You will be part of the wider Therapy team with there being opportunities to take on additional managerial responsibilities.

The Women’s Health Team work across north Lancashire and Cumbria and consists of a small group of friendly, enthusiastic, forward thinking Physios who actively support training and personal development.

Duties will include supporting the Advanced Physiotherapists for Women’s Health in delivering this service throughout the Cross Bay Women’s Health Team. Contributing to the in -service training is expected, as is the support offered to further develop your own skills within the speciality.

The role includes an Obstetric and Gynaecological caseload

The successful applicant will be an effective team player, have the ability to use their initiative and communicate with empathy. They will embrace innovation and integrated working and be committed to following the best practice to ensure patient centred care.

The post is permanent, 22.5 hours per week, with flexible working negotiable.

We operate from three main hospitals – Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
