Do you want to lead a team to support people to live a gloriously ordinary life full of opportunity, fun and helping people to reach their goals and aspirations.
We are looking for a new service manager to support two services of which one is a brand-new service for two people in Ashtead and one is a current provision for three people who currently live in Ewell. This is an ideal opportunity for someone starting their management career and sits within our level 1 management bandings. The role consists of admin days and shifts.
You will need to have a passion for empowering people to lead an aspiring life. You will need to be kind, patient, resilient, compassionate and believe strongly in great leadership. The role can be tough, but the rewards outweigh, the current three people in Ewell have been thriving in their flats over the last three years and enjoy full and active lives. For one individual the support has meant he has not returned to a hospital setting for the last four years, for a second person he has been able to explore his identity and to socialise with likeminded people. Our third person now receives support which celebrates her cultural and heritage needs.
You will need to be adaptable, flexible, and be able to lead staff to support our people to gain back their independence through empowerment, active support, positive risk-taking and out of the box thinking. Its important to note that some of our people may self-harm, have anxiety or on occasion show behaviours of concern.
At present all the people we support have several hours of 1:1 support during the day as well as some shared support day and night. The ideal people will have a passion for working with people and have a keen interest in the psychology behind complex behaviours that challenge and the willingness to learn and practice Positive Behaviour Support
Our Services are close to public transport, with a short walk from the bus stop/train station to the services. This role includes attending monthly management meetings in Reigate, being part of an on-call rota and actively participating in ongoing learning and development.
