Senior Support Worker – Aseptic Services | Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Are you looking to help in the national effort for vaccination and work in aseptic services? The development of our aseptic service and requirement for staff to prepare vaccine has resulted in an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join this specialised area of pharmacy.

The WUTH Aseptic Services Unit (ASU) Team are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who shares our vision and is looking to challenge themselves further within this specialised area. WUTH ASU holds an MHRA Specials Licence and produces chemotherapy, TPN, CIVAs and other specialist products for use both within the Trust and for sale to external customers. The successful post holder will also include supporting the newly formed Covid-19 vaccination hub.

All applicants should be organised, professional and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to work effectively alone and as part of a team.

Duties for this role include aseptically dispensing and manufacturing products such as intravenous infusions, antibiotic infusions and syringes, Total Parental Nutrition (TPN) and producing a variety of Chemotherapy and preparing vaccine. Other duties will include environmental monitoring, filing of documentation, data inputting, stock control and housekeeping duties.

Applicants require:
• Maths and English GSCE or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good knowledge of GMP

Experience of working in a clean room environment.
