About the role
Relationships mean everything to us, and this one is particularly special. You’ll have an important part to play as an Operations
Support Manager, managing a team of direct reports. As a member of the Central Security Guarding Team; reporting to Senior
Security Operations Manager you will work closely with the HR Team managing capability, performance, employee engagement; absence
and disciplinary management, to enable Unipart’s guarding services to deliver a highly effective and efficient service.

As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:
* Liaise with the HR department to ensure that all ER matters are handled in in a timely and effective manner, in alignment with
HR policies and procedures
* Ensure relevant internal stakeholders fully understand the HR processes, policies, security policies and procedures and provide
support and training
* Lead effective absence management in line with the Absence Management Policy, including robust and timely investigations and
disciplinary action where required
* Coach and mentor team members, ensuring their continuous development
* Ensure the team have relevant skills and training
* Actively promote and embed a culture of employee engagement within the team
* Provide monthly metrics to management on absence, capability and training
* Support in setting relevant objectives and reviewing throughout the performance cycle ensuring completion and follow up actions
including Performance Improvement Plans where necessary
* Assist with recruitment for the Security Team, supporting with interviews, ensuring full compliance to industry standards
including vetting of all employees to BS7858 and Right to Work checks etc
* Build positive collaborative relationships with internal / external stakeholders
About You

ESSENTIAL:
* Proven experience of effectively managing teams and individuals in complex and challenging environments
* Demonstrable experience in people management, including absence, ER cases, investigations, performance, development and
training, disciplinary, grievance and capability
* Experience in prioritising own workload around tight deadlines in a pressurised environment
* High level of PC literacy, in particular: Microsoft Word; Excel; PPT; and Google workspace skills
* Excellent organisational skills
* This role covers sites across the UK, so an ability to travel nationwide is required
DESIRABLE:
* Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of time and attendance software.
* Preferable – Experience of working in complex Security environments
* Preferable – formally recognised security, HR and/or management qualifications from accredited professional bodies
