A well-established company that has been in operation for over 50 years. They have manufacturing facilities across the UK. The company is going through a considerable growth period and is looking for skilled engineers to join the team in Edinburgh.
Your new role.
Ensure all equipment is maintained regularly as determined by the site PPM schedules. Providing an efficient response to breakdowns in order to maintain optimum efficiency. Installation of new equipment. Modify and improve equipment, plans and processes. Monitor stock and liaise with the support coordinator. Quality of information recorded in the shift log and ensure that communication is carried over to the appropriate colleague at shift change time. Shift pattern is 4 day on 4 days off, day and night shifts, 12 hours a shift.
What you’ll need to succeed
Relevant engineering experience within a manufacturing/process environment. 3 years proven post apprenticeship engineering experience. Familiar with PLC/ Computer controlled equipment. Has the ability to read and install electrical industrial equipment/systems. Competent in carrying out electrical fault finding and rectification. Understanding of both single, three phase systems, star delta and low voltage control circuitry. Able to work on both digital and analogue systems. Experienced with isolation procedures. Pneumatics and hydraulics systems experience. Competent in mechanical fitting, welding etc conveyors Health and safety awareness. Experience with Permit to Work systems. Able to work at heights. Able to work in confined spaces Experience of continuous improvement. Able to self-manage and work as part of a team prioritising workloads to satisfy commitments and meet agreed deadlines. Physically fit as this plant is based over different levels . Recognised multi-skilled or electrical qualification; HNC/ONC/NVQ III/C&G 2&3 certificates or relevant experience. Minimum 17th Edition IEE
