Library Assistant (High Demand)

The Library is seeking to appoint a well-motivated team player to join our Collections team. The successful candidate will help support key Team activities. These include assisting with the daily delivery of the Inter-Library Loan Service, making sure requests are processed quickly and accurately. The role holder will also support the management of the Library’s High Demand Collection, including its regular review and evaluation. Stock retrieval to satisfy inter-site lending requests will also be a part of this role, including support for weekend services.

You will have a good general education to Scottish Higher Level or equivalent. You will be able to demonstrate experience of team working, as well as the ability to pay attention to detail and evaluate and input data accurately. You will also need a flexible and customer-oriented approach and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and the academic community.

This is a part-time post working 20 hours per week, with the possibility of some weekend working. The post is for a fixed term, until 31 July 2023.
