Lead Teaching Assistant

Permanent role. 33.25 hours per week/39 weeks per year
8.45am – 3.45pm with a 30 minute unpaid break Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays. 8.45am-4.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid break on Wednesdays.
We are looking to recruit a Lead Teaching Assistant for Year 4 (flexible working requests accepted).
The lead teaching assistant will work alongside the class teacher and TAs to raise the learning and attainment of all pupils in both academic and EHCP areas. Supporting pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access all areas of the curriculum, always promoting pupils’ independence. Duties will include:
· Using your area(s) of expertise to contribute to the planning and preparation of learning activities, and to plan your role in pupils learning activities
· Cover and lead class teaching (under supervision) as and when appropriate
· Direct the work, where relevant, of Learning Support Assistants in supporting learning
· Communicate effectively with parents and carers under the direction of the class teacher
· Communication Champion:
o Work closely with SALT to ensure each child / young person has the right communication strategy
o Model within in class team high quality universal communication support
