Better content. Better products. And better careers.

Working in Tech, Product or Data at Sky is about building the next and the new. From broadband to broadcast, streaming to mobile, SkyQ to Sky Glass, we never stand still. We optimise and innovate.

We turn big ideas into the products, content and services millions of people love.

And we do it all right here at Sky.

And the UK&I Architecture team is at the heart of it all!

“As part of the UK&I Architecture team you’ll own the technology roadmap and define the solutions for a domain within Sky’s Customer Management platform.” – Adam Thornburn – Director of Architecture & Platform Engineer

What you’ll do:

Create and deliver innovative end-to-end architectural change that meets the requirements of the sponsor while maintaining the overall integrity of the technology estate.
Develop, manage and mentor a highly performing team of architects for your domain ensuring that the team has the skillset and knowledge to deliver the fast-paced roadmap of change at Sky.
Alongside the Principal Architect, manage demand against the capacity of the domain team to ensure that the team is always focused on the right tasks and ensuring transparency of our delivery commitments.
Work with other technology teams to ensure our solutions are secure, highly responsive, scalable, highly available, and resilient.
In collaboration with the Principal Architect, own and evolve the technology change roadmap for your domain, balancing the need for modern, extensible systems with the rapid delivery of business change.
Represent your domain and team in the wider technology community, ensuring that end-to-end solutions are fit for purpose and aligned to our target architectures.
Work with the Principal Architect for your domain to improve standards and practice and actively participate in governance forums.
Provide comprehensive and timely upward reporting and metrics to facilitate departmental planning and decision making and be a point of escalation for the team to help resolve issues and unblock progress.

What you’ll bring:

Extensive experience of Architecture & Design in an enterprise setting, ideally (but not necessarily) including exposure to industry standard design methodologies such as TOGAF, eTOM, SAFe etc.
Experience as a strong influencer, able to manage a team of experienced and autonomous technologists towards a shared goal.
Skills as strong communicator, able to influence senior technology stakeholders and a broad technology community of your designs and strategies.
A broad technology background and ability to articulate architecture approaches and decisions to technical and non-technical audiences alike. Experience in DTV, OTT, Broadband/Voice or Mobile is useful but not mandatory.
You are an agent for positive change, adapting to new approaches, learning or technologies to keep yourself, your domain team and our platforms at the forefront of innovation in Sky.
