Hays are working alongside a Secondary school in across Halton who are looking for an enthusiastic, supportive, and approachable teaching assistant for children with a range of needs in their English department. This is a one year fixed term post. Hays is an established safer recruiter in education.
Your new role
The role is working within the English Department and under the direction of the line manager
by supporting learning through in-class support under the direction of the teacher.
by withdrawing students for support on any aspect of learning or organizing learning
in preparing materials and resources (including resources for the department VLE) to support learning.
in record keeping and evidence gathering to support the knowledge of students including marking.
by contributing to short, medium and long term planning through an increasing knowledge of subject areas, specifications, levels of attainment and assessment criteria
What you’ll need to succeed
About the successful Graduate / Teaching Assistant:
You should hold a recent degree from a UK university, minimum 2:2 degree in Education, or any subject / specialism, including English, Maths, Science, Psychology and Sport degrees.
Work experience with children / young people in any capacity is preferable, but no experience needed as full training will be provided.
You will have a passion for education, excellent communication skills and a can do attitude.
You will be proactive and innovative with the ability to engage students in different ways.
A positive attitude and desire to maintain current standards and raise attainment across the schools.
