Engineers at AWE work at the forefront of engineering research and development, they play a vital role in the current programme and developing next generation warheads for the UK deterrent. The Engineering programme will allow you to apply and grow your current discipline knowledge in this unique environment and learn more about what you enjoy and where you want to take your career.
As part of the Evolve programme you will:
> Complete an introductory project to develop your knowledge and understanding of how the business works
> Complete 6 month placements in our 3 engineering areas; Warhead Engineering,
> Production Engineering and Sites & Assets Engineering.
> Have the opportunity to complete a placement elsewhere in the business
> Gain an overall understanding of the breadth of engineering opportunities
> Contribute to the delivery of AWE’s extensive and varied programmes of work
> Be supported to develop your transferrable skills
You will also get the opportunity to start working towards professional registration.
We offer a 9-day working fortnight which means every other Friday off!
Before starting with the business you will need to be able to provide evidence that you have attained a minimum of a 2:1 in your Bachelors or Masters degree in the past 5 years.
