Front End Web Developer

Are you an experienced front end web developer looking for a new challenge? The University is seeking a talented individual with front end technical knowledge and UX skills to join our Digital Communications team. As a front end web developer, you will be responsible for developing visually appealing designs and user interfaces for our digital pattern library, which supports our websites and web applications.

Not only will you have a wealth of technical expertise, but you will also possess the interpersonal skills necessary to provide advice and support on the technologies and information structures used to communicate and manage information via the web. You will play a key role in improving the University website’s efficiency and user experience. To succeed in this position, you will need excellent customer focus, initiative, good planning, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Experience working within a Higher Education environment would be an advantage, but not a requirement. If you are a motivated and talented front end web developer looking for an exciting new opportunity, we want to hear from you!

Further information and informal enquiries may be directed to Stephen Evans, email: sde1@st-andrews.ac.uk Tel: 01334 462540.

Before an appointment can be confirmed, you will be subject to a Criminal Records check.

Applications are particularly welcome from women, people from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community, and other protected characteristics who are under-represented in IT posts at the University.

Equality, diversity, and inclusion are at the heart of the St Andrews experience. We strive to create a fair and inclusive culture demonstrated through our commitment to diversity awards (Athena Swan, Carer Positive, LGBT Charter, Race Charters and Stonewall). We celebrate diversity by promoting profiles of BAME, LGBTIQ+ staff and supporting networks including the Staff BAME Network; Staff with Disabilities Network; Staff LGBTIQ+ Network; and the Staff Parents & Carers Network.
