An award winning and well established owner managed organisation with sites across North Cumbria and South West Scotland have created a new role of Financial Controller to strengthen their finance team to support healthy growth.
Your new role
The new appointment will be in a pivotal role and will support the Finance Director and senior management team with accurate and timely financial information to aid commercial decisions. A varied and interesting role in which you can take leadership and make a real difference. Leading a finance team of four, responsibilities will include:
Preparation of management accounts
Management of cash flow, preparation of cash flow and working capital forecasts
Supervision, training and development of a team of 3
Management of invoice financing and liaison with the Bank
Supporting the Finance Director with statutory accounts and corporation Tax pack
Liaison with Auditors, Bank and other Insurance companies
Management of asset register and renewal of insurances and contracts
Implementing and ensuring robust financial controls in the business generally, and making improvements where necessary
Involvement in various projects including ERP system implementations and continual improvement initiatives
VAT returns, supervision of credit control, sales and purchase ledgers
What you’ll need to succeed
Qualified Accountant CIMA/ACCA/ACA with excellent management accounts/technical experience
Strong commercial acumen
Good systems knowledge
This role suits someone seeking progression, who can grow with the role and take on additional responsibility from the Finance Director over the forthcoming years.
You will be highly organised, and a strong communicator, comfortable liaising with various stakeholders including Board level and Senior Management.
Strong staff management skills, you will have a forward-thinking approach with the proven ability to identify and implement improved methods of working.
Excellent interpersonal, IT, problem-solving and time management skills are essential, as is the ability to drive for results, work under pressure and to tight deadlines while sustaining attention to detail and accuracy.

Salary up to £55,000 per annum, in line with qualification and experience
