Fetal Medicine Clerical Administrator | North Bristol NHS Trust

The Women’s and Children’s division is set up to provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to all women.

We are currently looking for a fetal Medicine Clerical Assistant within the the Fetal Medicine Unit. The administrator will provide essential support to the clinicians and to the women using our services. The applicant will be responsible for covering a range of clerical duties including reception, booking appointments and answering telephone enquiries. The role will encompass all of the clerical duties on a rota basis.

We are currently looking to recruit a motivated flexible individual to enhance our administrative service. You must be able to work as part of a team, able to communicate with members of the public as well as the wider multidisciplinary team, therefore you will need to possess excellent communication skills.

The role demands large periods of concentration, mostly using computers and digital systems. The post holder should possess good computer skills and preferably have NHS administration experience, although full training and support will be available.

Duties include:
• Booking scan and clinic appointments and notifying patients and/or other healthcare professionals of the appointment
• Answering telephone enquiries in relation to clinic appointments and general enquires
• Greeting women attending for appointments and ensuring that clinics are managed efficiently
• Assisting Midwives with information and problem solving

The role of the Clerical Administrator is to provide administrative support for the Fetal Medicine Clinics to ensure the efficient running of the Maternity Service.

To provide a comprehensive reception and booking service for all complex pregnant women within North Bristol Trust (NBT). The Clerical Administrator will be responsible for the day to day booking of all Fetal Medicine Unit appointments, ensuring that appointments are scheduled according to gestation and following NBT and national guidance and policy.
