Contract: Full time, PermanentWe are IMI Critical Engineering; we are recruiting and we want you.We are a global engineering group focused on the precise control and movement of fluids in critical applications.We work with leading international companies in over 50 countries to deliver innovative engineering solutions to address global trends such as clean energy, energy efficiency, healthcare and increasing automation.Our Company heritage spans over 150 years during which time we have established a strong international reputation for excellence and innovation.We operate across three globally recognized divisions: IMI Critical Engineering, IMI Precision Engineering and IMI Hydronic Engineering having £1.9 billion revenue with c11,500 employees worldwide.Buyer – About the role:This is a critical role within Thompson Valves and as Buyer you will be responsible for the sourcing the correct products and services at the right time and price in line with MRP requirements and approved requests to support the business plan and predicted stock levels.This post will require close liaison with other members of the purchasing team and various other departments within the organisation.As our Buyer, you will:- Purchase components as required and directed in line with requirements generated via the MRP system, ensuring OTIF requirements are fully achieved.- Review MRP rescheduling requirements and make informed decisions from outcome.- Continually review data and suggest changes to buying & stocking patterns to optimize best practice e.g. improve stock turns, reduce stock, lead time, cost saving etc.- Ensure all purchasing activities are completed in a controlled and professional manner in line with the demands of the business.- Liaise with suppliers to ensure quality, commercial and delivery targets are achieved in keeping with the business requirements.- Provide information and support as required to departmental managers and other internal customers which will include but not be limited to delivery dates and pricing for products.What We Offer:- Opportunity to join a diverse, dynamic, and fun global team that likes to challenge the status quo with new ideas and maximum creativity.- Strong Career progression opportunities.- A company culture of promotions from within.- Flexible Benefits purchase (e.g. additional annual leave etc).What We Are Looking For:- Experience in a similar Purchasing role within a manufacturing/engineering environment.- Holds or is studying for a professional purchasing qualification (CIPS).- Good understanding and working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.- Experience of ‘Pull Systems’ Kanban etc.- Skilled in the reading of an engineering drawings.- Reliable and dependable.- Methodical and organised in the execution of work.- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and target focused.- Proactive approach with a positive attitude, demonstrating the ability to identify solutions to challenges.- Ability to demonstrate a desire to succeed and to work as part of a team and work independently.If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience to be successful in this role, click on “APPLY” today, forwarding an up-to-date copy of your CV for consideration in the first instance.No agencies please.
