We advise nationally and locally on how to unlock the full potential of woodlands and support the forestry sector to protect, improve and expand England’s valuable woodland assets, ensuring they continue to provide benefits to people, the environment and the economy.The IT and Business Services team is a multidisciplinary team, responsible for providing essential IT and business services and ensuring FS receives the corporate services it needs. You will play a key part in this, overseeing business and corporate service provision and information management. As Business Services and Information Manager for Forest Services (FS) you will:• Be responsible for FS’ business service provision, ensuring that FS needs are clearly articulated, key performance indicators are agreed (with Forestry England or other providers of these services) and progress against them is regularly reviewed • Be responsible for FS’ implementation of and compliance with FC knowledge and information management policies• Lead on a number of key contracts for FS and be responsible for FS’ broader compliance with FC contract management policiesKEY WORK AREASYou will: • Procure and manage major contracts and licence agreements with external suppliers for FS-specific requirements (e.g. support and hosting of FS bespoke IT systems) • Work with Forestry England procurement and other teams to procure and manage contracts and licence agreements with external suppliers for joint requirements (e.g. for corporate clothing)• Produce and manage FS Service Level Agreements for all business services provided by Forestry England, ensuring FS needs are clearly articulated and reflected• Lead knowledge and information management within FS, working closely with and contributing to the wider FC programme, overseeing effective implementation of all relevant policies in FS• Lead the ongoing adoption of Microsoft 365 across FS, and oversee the alignment of SharePoint with emerging FC-wide policy and guidance• Directly line manage one or more people at Higher Executive Officer and/ or Executive Officer level, coaching them to effective delivery • As a senior manager within the IT and business services team, make an active contribution to the team’s wider work
