These posts are dependent on securing funding from NatureScot Better Places Fund 4 with confirmation of funding expected between 17-21 April 2023. Successful candidates must be able to start work on the 1st May 2023, ending 31st October 2023.
This role is to support the Ranger Service with the day-to-day management of the three Country Parks and other green space ‘hot spot’ locations on Council land holdings that experience visitor pressures. Posts will directly help with the management of visitors and the additional pressures associated with high visitor numbers through engaging with the public, monitoring impacts and encouraging responsible behaviour.
Candidates must have appropriate previous experience, full driving licence, excellent proven communication skills and a good level of fitness. They must have a recognised certification to SVQ Level 1 / NC in an environmental / land-based subject or related subject, or equivalent experience, as well as knowledge of the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
All successful candidates MUST fulfil essential criteria on the job outline and be able to start work on the 1st. May 2023, contracts ending 31st. October 2023.
36hour working week; weekend and evening working required. Interviews to be scheduled April 2023.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
