Our client is looking for a highly motivated individual with a proven track record in retail sales and eagerness to learn and help to develop their Keswick art gallery team.
As the assistant manager, you will report directly to the Keswick Gallery Manager.
You will work closely with them to deliver all events and promotions across the art gallery, new collection launches and new product launches. You will act as their second in command and implement all new processes and procedures introduced by them.
Your new job:
Target based sales
Supervision of the sales team
Motivate the team to achieve sales targets
Help develop the sales skills of the staff and help deliver the company wide experience for each customer
Regular merchandising and rehanging of the gallery
Regular changes to the window display
Manage stock control and reporting
Managing and organising of stockrooms, deliveries, and product quality control in the galleries
Sales reporting to Gallery Manager
Management and organisation of customer data collection
Assist the gallery manager to develop proactive selling to our customer database
Assisting the Gallery Manager in the planning and organising of events and launches in the galleries
Attend regular staff meetings with your team to help promote good communication and provide support and training
Occasionally attending meetings at Head Office, in Yorkshire, and provide support to other galleries
Attend Trade Shows and tourism events across the Cumbria Region
About you:
Experience of retail sales, handling payments and managing a till
Supervisory experience
Excellent customer service: face to face, telephone and via email
Availability to work weekends and weekdays
Flexibility to work between three and five days per week, depending on the needs of the business
Handling of pictures and other items of stock; sometimes large and/or heavy
Attention to detail
Good level of numeracy
Full UK Driving Licence
Salary and benefits:
Salary: £24,000 + Commission (OTE £27,000)
Bonus potential from sales generated, calculated on a commission basis
28 days holiday per year
